Re: Announcement about RDF
I've got no issues with changing the system. Telling the staff to fuck off, but behave and not cause trouble, is just taking the fucking piss considering the time and effort put in.
I'm trying to archive the formal debates and the Reptile Thread etc. So annoying.

It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.

Re: Announcement about RDF
I would advise against myself, as it might give the site admins a "reason" to shut down the forum forthwith, and stop people from posting valid criticism.Mazille wrote:Feel free to do so. I'll help you with the reptile threads, if you want.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

The RD.net forum seems to be having more ... performance problems.

We've done our best to fight for the forum's future on behalf of the membership but Josh isn't interested it seems. We've seen this coming for months so I'm not that surprised to be honest. We used to have a dialogue with RD but Josh put a stop to that and we're also now forbidden to contact RD (as you see from the message Josh sent to staff). I posted the message publicly so I expect to be sacked any minute.
The forum has become the busiest atheist forum on the Internet and he's throwing it all away (I have my suspicions why that is but I'm not making them public at the moment).

Re: Announcement about RDF
I'm not having any problems with the forum over there at the moment, got an error or two earlier though, given the number of people currently online over there I'm not surprised.klr wrote:The main site (front page), is still fine ... The overall decision was bad enough (although I too saw it coming), but the way the staff were addressed was a complete disgrace. But then I of all people should probably not be surprised.

Re: Announcement about RDF
Well, Josh was told exactly what was needed to get things like Search up and running. Hell, even I understood how it worked after chatting with the IT guys that work with Josh. I had a feeling the forum would just get scrapped.klr wrote:The main site (front page), is still fine ...
