There's a word for addiction. "Quit". As in who cares any more what the hell they do.

I love all the comments removed by the moderator in that thread, and the fact that you likely knew who I was long before I posted in that thread, but have only now banned me - because I raised such an inconvenient point in that thread. A perfectly reasonable point. But inconvenient. The smell of your wanton disingenuousness just wafts from every direction out of that thread.

This is exactly why I am contemptuous of you. I may be back again in the future, and again, I will cause no harm to anyone, and raise only reasonable points.

And you can ban me again, when it's convenient for you - and you can get away with deleting just the one comment of mine, and state that the rationale is because I'm a sockpuppet of a banned user - even though you have left the rest of that user's comments completely intact. And you can make yourself feel justified in deleting that one sole inconvenient comment, because it was written by an 'undesirable'. This is why I am contemptuous of you. This is why you deserve contempt.

You really are charlatans - fucking charlatans - and I will take immense pride in demonstrating that as and when I have a good enough case to show for it. Your foundation can go fuck itself with a shitty stick - FOR REASON AND SCIENCE. For love of truth. For the Disinterested Quest for Truth. For everything that you say you value, and consistently fail to value.

Thanks.

Heather.

Okay, they made their point. They deleted all my posts. At least they're now consistent in their obnoxious incompetence.

My confidence in RDFRS has soared to new depths.

Shush! They don't need criticism, they need money. You're just going to tarnish their reputation with that kind of language, and then they'll get less money. And they need that money - for reason and science, you know. For telling people to be skeptical, and to ask for evidence, and to call out bullshit when they see it, and to challenge authority. Now, stop making waves…

Resource #1: You. RichardDawkins.net is the most visited website in secularism. It is where secular innovation and secular ideas meet secular people who can and will take action. That’s you.
I really hate that BS line 'Our number one/best/strongest/etc. resource is you!'
Anyway, the first sentence made me laugh. It almost sounds religious.

Also note the dearth of references to reason or science.

Incidentally - for anyone who thinks I am unreasonable in sockpuppeting after having been banned over there, on the few times that I have - I should note that it has never, ever been explained to me, in any way, using any words, in any language, via any medium, why I was banned in the first place. I literally haven't a fucking clue why I was banned, and I'm not too sure that they're much wiser. I have asked politely and sincerely, I have taken the piss, and still nothing has been offered. Nothing. No questions asked, no answers offered. That's how they roll.

They're a Foundation for Reason and Science. I think that's a bit like being a Democratic (People's) Republic. :dunno:

It is so odd and sad to remember that once, before the purges, many of our perspectives on "them" over "there" was once "us" over "here" and that I defended RD a few times and lent out his books to my friends.

:sigh:
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."
-Mr P

The Net is best considered analogous to communication with disincarnate intelligences. As any neophyte would tell you. Do not invoke that which you have no facility to banish.

Richard writes good books and does good documentaries. He should have just stuck to what he's good at. :tea:

At any rate it would prevent me enduring the schizophrenic experience of admiring him personally, while thinking he's a complete fucking turnip on a number of issues relating to his foundation - which I did once actually express to him as being an elaborate practical joke. :hehe:

I judge folk by the forum they host. Dawkins is a wanker.
“I wish no harm to any human being, but I, as one man, am going to exercise my freedom of speech. No human being on the face of the earth, no government is going to take from me my right to speak, my right to protest against wrong, my right to do everything that is for the benefit of mankind. I am not here, then, as the accused; I am here as the accuser of capitalism dripping with blood from head to foot.”

John Maclean (Scottish socialist) speech from the Dock 1918.

I just felt like reposting this one of PordFrefect's from a while back. I don't particularly agree that Dawkins is an 'arseholish prig' - but I do like the execution, and the rest of the sentiment expressed:
PordFrefect wrote: I thought is was passed by unspoken, yet universal, assent that Dawkins is an arseholish prig who should stay away from politics, the public, and making a pretense of furthering 'reason', and stick to writing pop-sci books. :smug:

Eh, Dawkins can do what he likes with his site and his foundation. I've washed my hands of both of them. I may listen to him speak at the Reason Rally, but that is something he can do - along with writing books.

I judge them by a variety of criteria. Richard may have completely stuffed up that area, but his books and his forthright stand on matters of religion are things I value...
