The term "murdered babies" is used as an emotional hook by the (typically) religious fanatics that picket abortion clinics. Not helpful, IMO...

I can't even be bothered any more, the fact that the atheist/skeptic crew are just as much a funking bunch of loony tunes as the religious makes me happy that I have a limited life span.

What do you suggest, lovingly terminated, cuddled to death with surgical instruments. I'm all ears/eyes.

I have discussed this topic a fair amount over on RatSkep. No need to rehash it here.

If done post-partum, then the term makes sense. The further back in a pregnancy you go, the less sense it makes. The nutters apply it to abortion at any time whatsoever, which is why its use has the risk of tarring oneself with a rather unpleasant brush...

So Rarskep have decided murdering babies is OK, end of discussion.

I guess so, it's too bad you can't be there to shine the light of true righteousness on their black hearts.

That is a cop out, If the mothers life is in danger the baby will die anyway so no argument there. In the case of rape the compassion argument that the victim should not suffer the trauma for another nine months so compassion applies. If there are psychological/mental heath reasons then compassion over rides the life of the fetus. Tough call but anything else is just murder.

Good. Why don't you start a thread about it? Or better still, why don't you bump one of the over a dozen already existing ones on that topic? This one looks suitable.

It's not murder if it's not an independent life.

So, perhaps abortion of a foetus that was advanced enough to survive a premature birth (I'll even throw in "with modern medical help") could be regarded as murder. Before that, no...

How about this is a thread on Rationalskepiticism and that they are unwilling to challenge their current paradigm, a supposed area of free though that censors anything that isn't congruent with their presuppositions. I'm just using this as one more example of their cowardly behaviour. Ratskep could have been the shining light of free inquiry willing to explore areas and challenge pre-conceptions like never before and yet they choose to be a bunch of pathetic mod wolves pending in a load of bleating sheep. It is only a couple of steps above a religious or atheism+ forums and no amount of smugness looking down on said forums will change that.
