I have just heard the news, and too shocked to make any sensible comments at the moment.

So's mine, but the forum is set up to not display them.
They're changing things by the minute over there; who can keep up?

Maybe someday "they" will realise what an abysmal debacle was committed here, what an arrogant, contemptuous insult has been paid to a huge community of intelligent and funny people, and how they've done damage to the cohesion and community action attempts of this group in a way that organised religion would be proud of.

But they won't, the contemptible bastards. Fuck 'em.

Wow.

It was probably the only way they could stop him posting front page comments. The front page doesn't care if you are merely banned from the forum IIRC.

I have an old PM from CJ in my inbox, and it now claims to be from "anonymous".

I have the same... fucking hell!! :o

I don't see the point. These changes were brought forward with Richard's blessing, and he hasn't hidden his annoyance with the forum in the past. Also, Josh has done a lot for him. Josh built his website, his foundation, his videos... Josh is responsible for Richard's growing presence on the internet and in the US. Richard won't do anything to Josh.

RD.net is dead, we need to accept it and move on.

Josh has now deleted all our posts from the main page, but I don't think he's banned me yet. I just posted this:
Josh, it is a shame you have to go all Stalin on us and make our posts disappear. You've got everything now, the least you can do is let us tell people what you did.

I love the update message in my PM box:
Update: We had intended to leave the forum fully-funtioning for 30 days, but due to the inappropriate posts by some users and moderators, we have decided to leave the forum in a read-only state. You can still download and archive your posts and private messages, but the ability to enter new posts has been disabled. It's unfortunate that it had to come to this. We know that change can be difficult and sometimes frightening, but we are all very excited about the direction of the website and the future.

The super long 28+ page thread about how pissed we all are is also missing.
The thread isn't missing, it never existed. Everyone is excited about the new changes. Very excited. Discontentment will not be tolerated. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them somewhere else. Do not be frightened child, we will fix things for you. Do not discuss this message with anyone else, anywhere or at any time, or we'll be there. Waiting.

Thanks for your understanding!

It's obvious RD knows nothing about the web, if he did then he would have sacked the person that designed the current front page of his site. It's by far the worst of any site I visit on a regular basis. It looks like it was built by an amateur.

'We are all very excited.' There's a pleasant ambiguity and perhaps unintended accuracy in that statement. :tea:
Then they for sudden joy did weep,
And I for sorrow sung,
That such a king should play bo-peep,
And go the fools among.

thy fool to lie: I would fain learn to lie.

I think that's a typo, especially given the bloody awful speeloing on the front page. It should have read 'we've already exited'.

Oh, and I have gotten back in
I saw them play against Everton the other day, will that do? :dono:

Give me a break. The website's shit (the people are great, but the site itself is one of the worst I've been on), and the videos are nothing a wedding video maker couldn't do. What makes me laugh is when you go on his company's website, and he includes BBC and Channel 4 programmes among his credits. Presumably uploading uncut interviews filmed by professionals counts as a production job nowadays?
