Well a number of the naysayers were proved conclusively wrong by suggesting he couldn't win the Labor leadership. Let's just wait and see what happens in the next election before getting too cocky. Most of his policies align with the majority of public expectations. It's really only the elite who are contemptuous of him.

But your honour I present Michael Foot, Jesus Christ the UK voted for the monster that was Margaret Thatcher rather than vote for an extremist Labour candidate. The UK is a centre right country so labour has a Blairite (non war monger) leader or get recked.

The labour party didn't even have a new leader bounce rating in the polls, his non confrontational style at Prime Minister's question time plays right into David Cameron hands. The British public don't like identity politics (the UK is a centre right country) and the polls continue to show this. I move in enough conservative circles to hear the message 'don't be arrogant', 'don't be smug' (about the next election} that is all the tory party is worrying about at the moment because the British public will not like that. Of course the next election will be the acid test though why ignore the warning signs on the road ahead.

There's various reasons why this doesn't come about, but I think it's more accurate to say that the UK, Canada, NZ, Australia etc, are leftish social democracies (by personal wants), not the centre right politics we actually end up with. It will be interesting to see the next UK election, given the massive increase in party membership under Corbyn, and what happened in Scotland in the last election.

That's wealth, political, corporate and media. Hitler, Bush, Blair etc are the political elite. Do you really think these people aren't selfish? Do you really think Murdoch, who supports bombing Muslim countries, isn't selfish? You think Donald Trump isn't selfish? Corporations are selfish by legal requirement.

This is why real leftists are surging in popularity around the world. They represent (at least at the moment) anti-elitism. If you have a mortgage, if you have a pension and a bit of savings you are the elite, basically most of the British population and of any first world country is part of the elite. I must use more resources than an entire African village and that's on a average UK salary

And yes politics is very black and white, a general good rule of politics is if you can't put your views in a single sentence or even better a single word you will lose. Leftists aren't surging anywhere, where there is a functioning country people are getting richer or you get anywhere else are hell holes like Greece
