For what it's worth, I do get pissed the fuck off on a daily basis. But I try (not always successfully) to channel it productively and more or less coherently.

Yeah, it's hard not to get pissed off at something or other almost daily. But the forum doesn't piss me off. It's changing, but why wouldn't it? For a while, when I was trying to resist the changes, it did stress me out. But then I realized that clinging to the past just guarantees disappointment. The arrow of time flies forward. Everything changes and there's nada we can do about it. Better to just flow with it and see what happens next, imo.

As you have probably worked out over the years, I don't give a fuck what anyone does. I really don't care if you only come here once a month to whinge. I only care when people start attacking and/or misrepresenting me. But even then, I welcome the chance to argue about something and trade insults. I don't care that I got banned. The only regret I have is that I can't find another place on the net to have vigorous discussion. Although, looking at ratskep now, it's certainly not that place any more*.

Ultimately, most vigorous discussion forums on the net get most of their traffic from inane repetitive discussion about US gun culture, US foreign policy (i.e. us vs them), climate change denialists, and in the rational sphere - god botherers. It's really just the equivalent of most sensationalist tv and print media, with the only difference being the generally more intellectually challenging topics and the higher than average intellect involved. But the outcome is the same: You're a poopy head, NO, YOU'RE a poopy head!

I'm just catching up with this thread but am with rEv on this one as ratskep should of been the ideal place to (after the Richard Dawkins melt down) to express new ideas, have robust debates which was free of censorship. It ends up with a moderation policy so heavy handed as to be anti free speech by another name. I love ratrionalia for its don't give a fuck stance but sometimes people want to be challenged and push ideas outside the norm, It is not our fault ratskep had no balls and moderated by Nazis.

make many sock puppet accounts over there since it is the only way that you can actually access it since you were banned. You are so absolutely obsessed with it and it is plain to see. This is not the place for serious heavy as you know very well because everyone here just wants a good time Serious heavy discussion is just not the rationalia way of doing things. You want that then go look elsewhere and you shall find. But that would then mean leaving here and having to find a new audience to discuss your unrequited love for Rat Skep and why she should not have done what she did and that is just going to
be next to impossible. So you are stuck here on a site that does not do serious heavy while seeing what your lovely lady is up to without being able to ever get back

This post is just stupid, Richard Dawkins site had a lot of people who come to it with new ideas and found people who they felt the could be open with. The so called lifeboat promised the same and failed to deliver when their preconceived notions are challenged. No one is claiming to be right or wrong here though it is so frustrating when some jobsworth who is now a pre school hall monitor aka mod cuts your argument down for a infraction of said rules.

As far as I'm concerned it's hilarious drama. DaveDodo is one of the best things to happen to this forum for a while. At least he gets people talking (if only to take the piss out of him). What are you and others contributing in the way of threads? If there's a problem with the content on this forum, then the answer is to personally do something about it and post stuff you like to talk about. I just don't understand how some of you can make this the problem of others. Take responsibility for your own posting or lack thereof.

I don't have a problem with people taking the piss out of me. Though it would be nice if they had some intellectual balls for once, at least you can start having a decent discussion on ratskep before the mods get involved, here it is joking or light heartedness and derailing but sometimes you need a little more. This is were ratskep falls down and it is very annoying and pointing this out should not be a problem.
