The picture of them we've been getting from some of our regular posters is a bit one-sided. I think we'd benefit from a wider range of viewpoints on gender issues.

Also, there has to be more to them than just their stance on feminism. For me, this site is actually more of a fun community than a serious debate place. There is the occasional drama and very occasional gross stupidity, but overall we are a very accepting and welcoming bunch.

Easy: adopt a very detailed sexual harassment policy whereby offending posts can be reported. If a woman says she feels offended by a post, then there should be no discussion or debate over whether it is reasonable for her to feel that way or whether it should be remedied. She is entitled to her own boundaries, and that means if she says it's offensive, then that's that. The offender is to be in some way taken to task, and this may mean immediate warnings and for repeat offenders, banning if need be.

Obviously, since women are entitled to their own boundaries, any comments of a sexual or sexist nature can only be posted if the same are welcomed by women. So, one first needs to get to know each woman here, talk with each woman and get to know each woman and her boundaries. Then all posts posted by men must conform to each and every woman's personal boundaries.

I was going to say that too! But then I fell asleep.

My point was that it wasn't just a "shake and and walk on" thing, at least not with me. I brought him a jug of Missouri's finest corn whiskey at Skepticon III and we had fun with it. The next year I met him twice, once at Skepticon, once in St. Louis. He got a quart of 'shine the second time, really good stuff too.
