Posted this bit of shite on the front pages comments.

Judges will decide if or not homeopathy is ok.
Otherwise it is all hot air.
So, we should refrain from commenting.
However we should still keep track of legal issues.
If things go badly, so be it.
Sooner or later people will realise the truth.
Actually debating it is fruitless.
The purpose of this website is not speculation.
When we don't follow a coherent strategy.
All of us should take a step back.
Then it will become all too clear.

Horridly childish I know, with any luck Captain Fuckwit Josh and his gang will be too intellectually banal to notice. I LIKED RDForums it was nice. Wish I had posted more, but a was a little shy.

Josh feels like the chosen one to kiss RD's ass to promote atheism. I wonder how much he gets paid for that?

A fucking arsole, a snot gobbling twat, a shit faced moron, a small dick frustrated bully, an immature fuck pig. I’m sorry I have run out of nice things to say about the pratt.
“I wish no harm to any human being, but I, as one man, am going to exercise my freedom of speech. No human being on the face of the earth, no government is going to take from me my right to speak, my right to protest against wrong, my right to do everything that is for the benefit of mankind. I am not here, then, as the accused; I am here as the accuser of capitalism dripping with blood from head to foot.”

John Maclean (Scottish socialist) speech from the Dock 1918.

This comment finally got me banned,

'Ban me Josh, I won't stop posting until you do, you cowardly lickspittle, you stinking fetid pig fellatio specialist. I'll consider it a badge of honour to be banned by a narcissistic, ivory tower dwelling nonce like you.
Love and best wishes, (not really)

I feel shitty about all of this, but I had to do it.

That is actually what I meant to say. I was tired. Meh. :coffee:

I think I get the reference. The "H" is for a fictional college somewhere, and "Rimmer" is an "author". Latter scare quotes intentional. Then, of course, there are all the puns to address.

With respect to Richard Dawkins' recent post on RD.net (which I can't link to as I'm on my phone, and it'd be a pain in the arse) - could we please state the specifics, rather than knowingly allude, to our reasons for disliking Josh and/or his behaviour, succinctly, if possible?

If Richard had actually read this thread in detail then he might at least have gleaned that there is more to our discontent than the merits of the decision to reformat the board in and of itself. Please voice this explicitly.

Also, if you feel genuinely incensed by the decision made in private and essentially forced through (since virtually none of the current sample of end-users support it, and forum staff repeatedly tried to advise this, only for it to fall on the dismissive (arrogant?) deaf ears of Josh in particular - which I'm told was not the first occasion of blank I-know-best dismissal from Josh to forum staff) - then please express why.

It's certainly the case that the new forum will be QUALITATIVELY different in ways other than editorially and in the weight towards 'reason and science' - the proposed will just not be a forum. It will be a multi-user blog. This is conducive to far less community feeling. Particular if it cuts down idle chatting, which it may not since the front page remains peppered with such and is a similar format. Idle banter is part of what bonds people and makes them feel good about spending time somewhere.

The situation is perhaps evidence of how strongly those bonds can form - and perhaps all involved would have appreciated this better if there was any prior consultation (and they'd be prepared for it being virtually unanimously disliked) - or if Josh had taken even the slightest notice of forum staff in the first place. But father knew best.

And to my own mind finding any anger illegit isn't a good motive for putting a firm foot down and sweeping dissent under the carpet. It's a moment for 'Whoa. Calm down. Why exactly are you so riled?' This is what Richard did himself during the OBC debacle, instead of simply PRESUMING the exact causes of our anger, declaring it illegit and actively ending all discussion on the matter for everybody. But that isn't Josh's style. No real dialogue beforehand and none now with those who don't matter. Father always knows best.

This is just a couple of examples of Josh's mishandling of the executive diktat from the word go, from right at the beginning when he should at least have made token gestures towards giving a fuck what some others said. And if there was never any malice, then I'd have to put it down to ineptitude, and some sort of ingrained (if mostly benign) egocentrism or narcissism of some description.

And he even tried to forbid us in helping forum members relocate elsewhere, for no reasonable rationale than to make himself resemble more closely the epitome of 'twat' in our eyes. I mean, wouldn't he rather those who felt strongly buggered off? Isn't it best that those who prefer the forum format toddle off to another home? Obviously not. All dissent, whatever it's form, must be stamped out. No questions asked. Father knows best. We're ALL really excited, and that's the final word on the matter. There had been a notice in Alpha Centauri for fifty of your earth years...

This again is just a SAMPLE of how Josh endeared himself to many concerned and calmed some flames, through his diligent consultation, discussion, scoping of the potential problem, and going into the implementation stage armed with knowledge of the situation, and prepared to answer questions and allay concerns, and try not to stoke fires himself or shed himself in a bad light.

If Richard is too busy to read this, then he should perhaps consider himself too busy to respond in his unavoidable ignorance. Particularly if simply to PRESUME grievances and declare them void in an area where we can't even respond directly.

You forgot rick-rolling people trying to backup the forum, which really is a measure of the sort of person we're dealing with here.

You're stating that Josh went so far as to prank those trying to archive the forum - hence obviously deliberately and smugly stoking flames?

Is there any specific good evidence you could post to verify this?
