The blood-filled elevator is both an allusion to the time of the month and the horror Rebecca Watson had to go through in that cold Dublin eve. Stanley Kubrick is a genius that way.

It's no mere coincidence that the movie was released and Watson was born in the same year. :zilla:

I'm not enamored of the term either. It is not a label I'd apply to myself.

I think I'd rather be called skepchick (if I were a girl), than skepdick. I've heard this term on twitter recently, but I can't figure out if it's a reference to skepchick supporters or those nasty, misogynist, woman hating skeptics.

Skeplick as a gender neutral sex-positive!
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."
