Is the GF limited by relativity and the speed of light Galaxian my old chum? Which is to say are communications limited by those factors? For example if GHQ (Galactic Headquarters) is somewhere near the centre of the galaxy, does it take 100,000 years (roughly the diameter of the galaxy) for a message to get to the local representatives? Of course if HQ was well on the other side of the galaxy it could take much longer of course - up to 200,000 years. Would make flexibility and short term reactive planning somewhat problematic.

Just wondering and hoping you can help me out with this puzzle. Yours inquisitively.
"The GF has overcome all problems that appear to be insoluble to mere humans." Or words to that effect is how I predict Galaxian's reply to be.

I suspect they communicate via spooky action inside Galacticus's head...

The Galaxy folk are truly wondrous it seems! How fortunate we are to have Glaxo - our very own representative here to guide us in their ways. :cheer:

Galaxian is not a specialist in superluminal space flight. But the system used by the GF in our Milky Way galaxy is Tachyon Drives. These allow the Federation craft to travel far faster than light. Somewhat like the 'warp' drives of Star Trek that get from one stellar system to another in a matter of hours.

There is a relativity/time travel problem, but not as severe as imagined by Earthbound physicists. So, as put so pithily by Arthur Buller:
" There was a young lady named Bright,
Whose speed was far faster than light.
She went out one day,
In a relative way,
And returned the previous night!"

Well that is certainly interesting. The tachyon is an invented hypothetical particle which has never been observed or proven to exist by us lowly humans.

The following familiar relativistic equation: E = m[1−(v/c)²]−½ shows us that if tachyons exist then in this equation have v > c. This means that E is imaginary - or infinite. Amazing!

Still if your Galactic Lords have overcome this problem, which clearly they must have for you to be here gracing us with your presence then good luck to them..and you.

How about a nice fruit bowl? Everybody likes a nice fruit bowl.

Yeah, I sure love em. And a spa day - everyone loves a bit of a pamper.

Some of those fresh, chocolate covered strawberries always go down a treat. Or some nice tea towels. Can't have enough tea towels, particularly if they've got pictures of Brighton Pier on them.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Hand embroidered cushions, or scented candles, or those things that go fiiiiizzzz in the bath and make you smell like ice cream. Who doesn't like those?

Nobody. Even aliens like fizzy ice cream bath things. Unless baking soda is poison to them and they melt. On second thought, let's stick with the embroidered pillows or a Royal Wedding commemorative tea cozy.
