Modern art is an oxymoron.
Tbh most of the shite that goes with it, and Art in general is bollox.
I remember seeing a short report a few years ago about this sort of thing.
The setup was a painting of an elderly woman sitting on a chair.
Various art critics/students came into the room and discussed it.
What I remember most was one saying something like:
"To me this painting is about the oppression of women, you can see this expressed in the posture of the subject, and how her hands are folded in her lap, covering herself and hiding her womanhood", or something along those lines.
The artist was in the next room, and when the reporter asked is this true, why did you paint the subject like that the reply was "I just asked her to sit comfortably".
Yet all these pretentious gits saw all sort of things in the picture, that were not there. The artist had no message to pass on, was not making a commentary, he was just painting a picture of someone in chair for fucks sake!
All Art, esp modern Art seems to be about is bullshit!
The more words and the "wordier" words you use, the better you "understand" the Art, bah humbug!
And don't even get me started on putting a urinal on wall and calling it Art!
Tbh those guys and theologians seem to have a lot in common.
