Whatever that means. I've not paid attention to the English football league since a lot of its "fans" went there in order to riot. Even Merkins can sometimes be more civilised. *waits for coito to bite*
Liverpool absolutely dominated English football in the 1970s and 1980s. By the 1990s, they thought they were still the greatest English club based on the two previous decades.
I suppose we'll have to see what the future brings. Given the unlikelihood of a result in every test of a series England has effectively retained The Ashes already, but that makes it just three series on the trot. Swallow... spring, and all that. Last time you could bask in the glory of winning eight series in a row was in 1890. We achieved the same result in 2003.

The best side Australia could field now......I'd walk into it. Historical precedent be damned!

At least you say "we".

What's the old joke? Refer to your team as "us" victory, "them" in defeat. :hehe:

Oh, and when Russell Crowe was nominated for an Oscar, the media kept pointing out that he is Australian. When he missed out on the gong, they referred to "the New Zealand born Russell Crowe." :D

Australia could be set to bat all day. Nasser Hussain opining that the outfield is so lush, the ball isn't getting rough, and therefore not reverse swinging. Interesting. England only need a draw here to retain the Ashes, Australia must win to stay in the series.

One wonders if Australia will declare at some point, seeing as they need to win this test.

Indeed. Tactically, it's all very interesting. Proper Test cricket.

Nice to see the Aussies actually show up for a change. But, unless England inexplicably self-destruct or the pitch falls apart on day 3, this has draw written all over it.

David Warner's cameo was priceless. Booed on, scores 5, throws away a review on a clear edge and booed off again! Wanker! :hehe:

Hehe, he is a bit of a tit. Does look like a draw but that not good enough for the Aussies.
