Oh, I don't doubt that Shallcross had no intent to hurt Ramsay like he did, but the recklessness of tackles like that is surely a characteristic of "that sort of player"?

The other point on my mind in regards to that incident is what on earth could so called "fans" be thinking when they launch into a rendition of "one leg, he's only got one leg" when a player is that badly hurt. Scum.

No just a moment of madness methinks and a mistimed tackle more than anything.

I wouldn't call them scum taking the piss out of the opposition is the bread and butter of fans the world over sometimes they overstep the mark and not to mention they were probably pissed as a newt when they did it as it was the late kickoff (if i remember correctly) people brains go when alcohol is involved.

I stand in the north end of hindmarsh stadium Adelaide United's home ground where the fans that will stand up and sing are. When i go to games and its almost always a nighttime/late arvo kickoff. The lads have had at least a good 4 hours of so of swilling beer sometimes more and of course there is from time to time some pretty unsavory chanting and singing because everyone's good judgment is out of the window.

Not saying its right just explaining the reason why it happens in most cases. ;)

I've been in those sorts of crowds, and I know what it's like.

I also know how quickly crowds can sort out arsewipes who take it too far if they have a mind too.

It was a definite minority (most of the Stoke crowd were clapping him off the pitch from what I saw) but they're still scum. Just like the ones who sing about the Munich air disaster to ManUre fans, or those who used to make the hissing sound at sperz. Or those who sung to Beckham that they wanted his kid to get cancer.

Alcohol is not a legal excuse for anything, and it's not a moral excuse for being an utter wanker.

Does that sort of player not exist? Where are all these leg-breaking types of players hiding, and why are the regular, non leg-breaking players taking all the blame?

Man. Utd. 4-0 AC Milan. 7-2 on aggregate. End of the line for this Milan side - how the mighty have fallen.

Real Madrid are out as well, 1-1 against Lyon and 1-2 on aggregate. That's the sixth year in a row the Galacticos have gone out of the Champion's League at the round of 16. :boohoo:

So the two most successful sides in the European Cup/Champion's League are gone. :levi:

Yep after buying every player it could get its hands on and expecting to win everything. :funny:

Man Utd after buying a few players and having a team that plays like a team goes and bitchslaps ac milan.

Happy days.

200 million Euro+ on C. Ronaldo, Kaka, Benzema and Xabi Alonso during the last close season. Benzema can't even get into the team. More money than sense.

I couldn't help laughing when at a North London derby the Arsenal fans started singing the following about Spurs new German signing at the time, Jurgen Klinsmann:

(to the tune of Chim Chim Cher-ee from Mary Poppins)
Klin-Klinniman, Klin-Klinimann
Klin Klin Cherooooo

If anyone else watched the Arsenal - West Ham game you'd have seen a perfect example of how fucked up the professional foul rule is at present.

Two players come together in what is pretty much a 50-50, the sort of contact defenders get away with as routine in football. But the linesman sees more than there is and flags it as a foul.

Penalty
Man down for 45 mins
3 game suspension

For what was a very, very soft offence, even if it was an offence.

Surely if a penalty is given that's punishment enough, unless it's a very obvious case of deliberate cheating?

Did time curve in such a way that two games played almost 24 hours apart were on at the same time in your part of the world?
