I'm not much of a fan of Illini football, but I still wish they would make an effort not get shot or arrested :fp:

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Yeah, that's a shame about the Jets. They really let everyone down.

Last weekend was a great weekend of football.

Falcons/Saints was a really great game, which I expected being a longtime NFC West fan. Two great quarterbacks. I was kinda rootin' for Matty Ice. Oh well.
Bengals/Steelers was a very good game as well; the Red Rocket managed to hold onto the game until the fourth quarter when he threw two picks. He lost his best receiver at halftime.
Rams/Browns looked going in like battle of bottom-feeders, but was actually also a very good game. I am impressed with Colt McCoy; he has poise beyond his years.
Ravens/Seahawks was a fantastic game. I kept waiting for RayRay to make a big play and take it away from the 'Hawks, or for Flacco to throw a touchdown, or Rice to break a big one, and it just never happened. Extreme defense in this one.
And of course, the game of the week, Giants/Niners. What a game! Right down to the wire, just what you expect of Payton's little bro and the best defense in the league. The replay version had Delanie Walker during warmups going, "We came here today to do two things: chew bubble gum and kick ass, and we all outta bubble gum!"

Ravens/Bengals was an excellent game. Really enjoyed it.
Tampa Bay nearly came back on Green Bay, but couldn't git 'er done at the end. A very good game for a matchup that used to be called the "Bay of Pigs" in the '80s. Many say the best offense in the country in Green Bay.
Oakland barely deserved to win against Minnesota with all those turnovers.
Dallas barely beat the Foreskins. As a Niner fan I officially hate the Cownoise, but at least they don't dis the First People with their mere name so I was surreptitiously rooting for them. And Romo.
I have two games yet to see, and I'm watching JAX/CLE right now. I like Colt McCoy, despite the fact he's from hell Texas. Too bad, he was just intercepted in the 3rd quarter.

The pay-me moment for week 10's great games was the moment when I realized that perhaps the best game of the week was going to be Browns-Bengals or Dolphins-Cowboys.

OTOH tonight we get Eagles-Seahawks tonite and the 'Hawks are coming off a loss to the Foreskins, preceded by an amazing win over the Ravens. So hopefully this will be a weekend of better games.

Is it just me or is boise st gets royally screwed every year i mean its 7th in the rankings and because its not in a big division its gets shoved into.....the las vegas bowl. :ddpan: I'll still barrack for them against arizona st just out of sympathy. :)

Is it wrong to want BYU to lose because they're a bunch of mormon fruitcakes? :ask:

I like bowl week i hope they never change it tbh.
