Spontaneous Order and Creative Destruction

“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

Collaboration and cooperation good does not imply capitalism and deregulation good.

Tell you what; See if you can find a six minute Youtube clip about The Great Manure Crisis Of 1894. The two of them would make a perfect pigeon pair to present to impressionable juniors. For educational purpose only, of course, not propaganda. No, not propaganda at all. It's all so Logical and True.

ETA: Um, would you believe me if I told you that I just found out that the Foundation for Economic Education is in part funded by the Charles G. Koch Foundation? I was shocked and amazed by the discovery! Shocked and amazed!

 I love it, it's the "collaboration and cooperation of millions of people" from all over the world. They forgot "exploitation" in there. You can be willing to bet that before the influence of social democracy and social justice in tempering the some of the worst exploitation, that many of those people from all over the world were working in slave conditions to make that pencil. And they still are in many cases.

Oh, and "voluntary"... yeah, right. Work in these unsafe conditions for these exploitative wages, or starve to death. Much voluntary.
