" There’s only one rule that I know of, babies — ‘God damn it, you’ve got to be kind."

And, "I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, 'If this isn't nice, I don't know what is."

Both from Kurt Vonnegut.

Don't take anything personally. Nothing anyone else does or says has anything to do with you. It's just a projection of their own minds.
Don't make assumptions. Ask questions and express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama.
Be charitable with your thoughts. I.e. - whenever possible, interpret things in the most charitable and benevolent way possible. Avoid, if possible, impugning the motives or thoughts or intentions of other people.
Do the best you can.
Try to keep your word.
Be skeptical, and listen/understand others.
“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

Never do tomorrow what you can't do the day after.
If at first you don't succeed, give up.

I'd post my real rule for a good life, except I really blood suck at upholding them myself.

1 never take tips from stand up comics
2 wear a bike helmet when needed...when past 70, at all times
3 the meek shall..get something, not much...because "they" need consumers
4 never worry about who "they" are...they are not you

Treat others like you want to be treated.
Be of service.
Forgive yourself and others.
Take lots of walks.

Same applies to you. :nono:

And I am fairly sure you won't get lost in your own underpants.

I'd heard reading too much here would make you go blind, but misspelling, that's serious! :spray:
