Yes, it is. No, they aren't. Yes, I am. Yes, they aren't.

“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

You can get taco shells or tortillas, right? Easy to make.pErvin wrote:I've never had a fish taco. It sounds yummy. I can probably get one here at some hipster establishment for $30 a taco.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Their only relevance is an ability as a tiny minority to whip up right wing hysteria...Forty Two wrote:No, it isn't. Universities take it seriously, as do many prominent feminists and other social justice activists. Unless you're suggesting these are not relevant mainstream folks...

That's opinion blogs. News sites have unimportant people write controversial texts for click baiting

I don't get Mexican food. It all seems like the same stuff, just folded differently.laklak wrote:You can get taco shells or tortillas, right? Easy to make.pErvin wrote:I've never had a fish taco. It sounds yummy. I can probably get one here at some hipster establishment for $30 a taco.

Having checked out your first link I'd call it "bloggers expressing opinions and citing other bloggers' opinions".Forty Two wrote:Dude, this is textbook progressivism. It followsNineBerry wrote:"some unknown person wrote something on Google Docs" is not news
The nearest two outlets offering Indian cuisine are Indian. The food is not authentic Indian cuisine. It's tailored to appeal to European palates. The nearest Chinese restaurant is run by a Chinese family. Again, the food is tailored to suit Europeans. Who is appropriating whom? That's a question absolutely nobody asks in this town. Not even the students at the local uni campus give a rat's arse either. They're too busy studying and having a good time. The problem with the lack of concern is that there aren't enough bloggers in the area, I suppose.

Give it time. Just look at the laws they're passing in Canada these days. It's coming down the pike. I am just grateful that there seems to be a limit even for a good segment of those who align left. Watch for this issue growing in popularity. Soon it'll be hate and racism for college kids to serve tacos on Cinco de Mayo, if they're not Mexican, of course....Hermit wrote:Having checked out your first link I'd call it "bloggers expressing opinions and citing other bloggers' opinions".Forty Two wrote:Dude, this is textbook progressivism. Cite the laws, please. I mean the wording, not your interpretation of what they mean.Forty Two wrote:Give it time. Just look at the laws they're passing in Canada these days.
