Apparently not in retrospect, as it were. To do that, you would probably need the ultra powers of Rachel...

Re: Atomic Energy
Well, people vote for and against many things by gut feel. We should just turnoff all coal and nuclear for a couple of years. Leave gas as the burned stuff, and ration that. Heating oil could be traded and stored by the wealthy. They would also all have their iwn windmill.
The common folk would all cut downmost of the trees by the 3rd year.
In the Southern areas you would get by with solar.

Great article, Tero, the facts, the facts, get them straight! But what do we do about Greenpeace? I used to support them with monthly payments, but cut them off.Tero wrote:DB, we will be leaving many more scars in the earth digging for these metals. http://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/vote-novemb ... -/42703330Swiss voters have thrown out a proposal to close the country’s five nuclear power plants after 45 years in operation.
The Green Party initiative was rejected by 54.2% of the vote, according to final results.
Only six of the country's 26 cantons, mainly in French-speaking Switzerland, came out in favour of the phase out.

You mean the French-speaking Swiss? Oh, they are very different from the German-speaking ones, and usually of opposite views, and, since they are less numerous, it is seldom their way, in this case fortunately so.rainbow wrote:Proves you can't rely on the froggies, not even the Suisse ones.

Re: Atomic Energy
What we need is more, new, nuclear plants to replace the old, and bugger Areva if they are old generation, we need tried and true, not experimental stuff... then again, I suspect they have lost ALL skill at building plants, even older models... after all, the last spree of building was 40 years ago, the people who worked on that are all retired.
