More Beautiful Than Human, More Than Human

Is there a indication in art that beauty can surpass anything human? Angels or Mermaids pushing the boundaries on the human perception of beauty towards something beyond? I've begun to find cosmetic media filtered artificial women ugly. What if there is a alien species not ugly and nasty rather bright and beautiful? Could they walk unseen amongst us because we notice ugliness and difference and yet bypass symmetry, struggling to discern the beautiful ones?
What will the world be like after its ruler is removed?
