Are you the dead on holiday?
Taking a short break from eternal non-existence?

What will the world be like after its ruler is removed?

Re: Are you the dead on holiday?
I am currently enjoying the school holidays, and am making the assumption that I am not yet dead...

And my gin!
And my gin!

Am "I" a dead on holiday? Certainly not. "I" never existed before "I" was born, and "I" will case to exist the moment "I" die. "I" exist for not a moment longer than that and arguably for an even shorter time. "I" am not having a holiday.Scumple wrote:Taking a short break from eternal non-existence?
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops. - Stephen J. Gould

Of course not, but I assume this is so until evidence to the contrary turns up. Got anything? Anything at all? if you do, believers in the Flying Spaghetti Monster would be interested.Scumple wrote:You can't be sure until the day after though?Hermit wrote:Am "I" a dead on holiday? I've scuttled a few ships on the inner board. Not interested in the outer board so much, that is definitely going on the fire come the day. Too many folks ignore their deepest hopes and deepest fears as if their inner thoughts were merely a scratch disc and not the only card they have in the end.Hermit wrote:Of course not, but I assume this is so until evidence to the contrary turns up. The Delphic oracle has nothing on you in terms of obtuseness.Scumple wrote:I've scuttled a few ships on the inner board. If I ever really discovered a edge on getting out of this life alive one thing I wouldn't do is tell anyone else.Hermit wrote:The Delphic oracle has nothing on you in terms of obtuseness.Scumple wrote:I've scuttled a few ships on the inner board. While you haven't, it wouldn't hurt if you attempted to express yourself clearly.Scumple wrote:If I ever really discovered a edge on getting out of this life alive one thing I wouldn't do is tell anyone else.Hermit wrote:The Delphic oracle has nothing on you in terms of obtuseness.Scumple wrote:I've scuttled a few ships on the inner board.
