Human race to become extinct

Post by cronus » Wed Apr 09, 2014 11:35 am

Say there was scientific proof humans are going to die out within fifty years? Would it effect your individual life decisions? Would you put off starting a family?
What will the world be like after its ruler is removed?

Well it wouldn't put off my decision to start a family because I never had such an intention to begin with. Don't want to pass along my shitty genes, and no money to support a family anyway. Hell of a way to raise a kid anyway if the end of the world was coming: "See all this, kid? Beautiful world, huh? Don't get used to it, you'll be dead soon." :?
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

I have never had a desire to immortalise myself genetically, so no, if there was scientific proof humans are going to die out within fifty years it would not affect my individual life decisions. I'd still plant trees too.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops. - Stephen J. Gould

It's going to take more than 50 years. Even an epidemic will only wipe out 99%. That's enough to recover.

And people will deny going extinct. Some global warming denier standing in his shorts and torn t shirt will deny extinction even when his woman is well past having children. "We've gone extinct before."

What if we eliminate income tax from those volunteering to go extinct? :D

The rest still have to pay, of course. Double.

Scumple, you must get someone to take a photo of you wearing one of those placards with "The end is nigh" written on them...
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!

Go extinct? We should be so lucky.
