Every woman should stand up. Even Muslim clerics can't kill that fast....

It's a reference to Viktor Laszlo's line in Casablanca when the Nazi guy is asking him to disclose the names of the leaders of the resistance in Paris and Prague and even Berlin. Laszlo asks him what if he disclosed these names? More would rise up to replace them, for every one they killed, hundreds would rise up. Even Nazis can't kill that fast...

...at some point in time, we have to call a spade a spade, and these fucking asshats are no better than Nazis.

Yes, well it'd be nice if men were taking a stand against Mr Fatwah wouldn't it? :hilarious:

Muslim men? They're in favor of the fatwas, by and large.... lol.

I'm more in favor of Fitwas. I don't like 'em fat.

Heh, we're just as obsessed with what women do here in 'Merka. We just don't write as many laws.

The Miley Cirus thing at the MTV awards show. It grabbed top billing on CNN while there was plenty of real news out there.

I wonder how that plays out when more conservative cultures consider loosening up.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Don't even attempt an equivalence here. We aren't as obsessed with what women do here in Merka, not in the same way as they are in Muslimland. The Miley Cyrus thing shows precisely that there is no equivalence. People were interested in the Miley Cyrus thing because she was a Disney kid a year ago, and now at a fairly young age she's engaging in simulated sex, stripping her clothes off, and lolling her coated tongue out like crazy on a channel/awards show geared for teenagers and pubescent kids. Nobody is saying she ought to wear a friggin hood.

Also, what does any of that have to do with the fact that the interviewer in the video ripped that awful priest a new asshole, and deservedly so?

Both extremes are bad for women and society. To keep covered up or strip off starker's are both demeaning to women in general who would rather be inspired by true heroics like Aimee Johnson than a repressive/expressive sexual stereotype.

That all depends on the context. I personally know some nudists who would tell you that stripping off starkers is not at all demeaning.

What's demeaning to the human spirit is compulsion.

What is "demeaning" in the sense of "offensive" or "I find that to be demeaning" -- well, that's purely a matter of opinion. Some people think some pretty tame stuff is demeaning.

I barely know this Cyrus woman. I watched the video at home on iPod. She might have a cute little butt but it was too small to make out on the phone.

She is as lame as her dad, Billy Ray....

So, it's no wonder his daughter wants to fuck up the 10's.

I don't know how much lamer the 10's can become... the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus -- lame and lame -- is twerking in front of the son of Alan Thicke -- lame and lame -- while singing songs so vapid and vacuous that they make Disco sound as soulful as the Delta Blues.....

We, from the 80s, thought we had a lame decade to be teenagers in .... I thought we had the lamest of all decades...but, the teenagers of today.... I weep for them. I really do. There is no salvation from this...

An average singer singing sub-Britney pop, averagely pretty and way too skinny to twerk properly - plus, she looked a lot better with long hair. She ticks all of the meh boxes. Her sole claim to fame is the Disney/Hannah Montana thing. Now that's behind her, she deserves to vanish down the plughole of celebrity with barely a burble. :tea:
