euthanasia
euthanasia
my dog Rex had distemper so I had to put him down. the vet said it was the “humane” thing to do. So I got to thinking if it’s so humane to put a beloved pet down when it’s afflicted with some life-threatening illness, why isn’t the same courtesy/compassion shown toward human beings afflicted by various life-threatening illnesses? If uncle Leo’s cancer is spreading and he’s beyond hope of recovery, and his pain is intolerable, then why can’t he decide to put an end to his suffering, say by inhaling a generous amount of pure nitrogen, or by swallowing a bottle of benzodiazepines? And why shouldn’t the State provide him with the means of terminating his existence? Evidently there are a lot of inhumane people out there who’d rather prolong the agony of the terminally-ill than provide them with the means to end it.

You write a clear and concise health care directive for yourself? Make your hard choices while you are healthy and have the presence of mind to do so, and update it, at least every five years. That's probably the most responsible thing you could ever do to take care of yourself.Epictetus wrote:my dog Rex had distemper so I had to put him down. the vet said it was the “humane” thing to do. Re: euthanasia
I would be happy for the same care to be taken before I'm put down as I have shown my dogs .I am more than happy to extend this right to a humane end to life to the rest of humanity .
I have heard comments about this issue and I cannot see a valid reason why we shouldn't encourage people to use their right to die .
You can take this as a living will BTW If you wouldn't keep your favourite dog alive in the state I end up in the feel free to kill me
Ps I would like to die like Aldous Huxley ....I want the light at the end of the tunnel to be pretty colours .
