Religion requires faith. What faith do religious atheists follow?
They strongly believe that they don't hold a faith.

Ireland's blasphemy law is unenforceable, deliberately so. It hasn't been used yet. It was nothing to do with protecting Islam, though. Islam never came up in the discussion. It's not even known why it's there or what the point of it is.

To remove blasphemy altogether would take a referendum.

I strongly believe that my team will win the cup this year despite their poor performance.

What atheist strongly believe is that claims by theists et al for the existence of their nominated deity are unbelievable. It is reasonable to disbelief these specifically theist claims as no credible evidence has been presented to support them. No faith is required in disbelieving the claims of theists - in fact, that disbelief is justified (and justifiable) by the lack of theist evidence for the existence of their nominated deity.

If 'strongly believing' is the main qualifying condition for a religion and religious membership then my belief about my team renders me a member of a Teamist religion, and in that the use of the term 'religion' is undermined to such an extent as to be rendered meaningless. That some people are fervent about their atheism does not render them religious, it just means they are fervent about their atheism. To say that one can be a 'religious atheist' is a silly as saying that one can be a 'fundamentalist atheist' - the comparison holds no equivalence unless we are to accept that a person is always exactly what they disavow: "You strongly believe you're not a Tory, which is a very Tory thing to say, therefore you must be a Tory."

That's why women's soccer is often much better to watch then men's soccer. The women don't go in for the diving and fake injury shit, yet.
