I've got no problem accepting that there are some problems with mental health definition. This isn't a psychiatric problem, though. Psychologists follow the same model. But to suggest that psychiatry (or psychology) is a big conspiracy theory is as idiotic as suggesting that climate change is a big conspiracy theory.

You said the article sums up your thoughts on the matter. The article clearly states that this Szazs character believed psychiatry was about social control. Anything that involves one group controlling others, particularly for social engineering purposes, is the domain of a conspiracy.

Psychiatry regularly cures depression and anxiety attacks. Surely you realise this.

So what exactly is your problem with psychiatry? As I mentioned, are you aware that psychiatry cures depression and anxiety all the time?

I am not aware it cures it in the same sense as flue can be cured or haemorrhoids for example. I know it cant cure schizophrenia or bipolar and many other serious conditions for which bio-markers are not even known. I am not sure you are aware but now we are debating what it means "to cure". If you mean that taking pills prevents one from being depressed is "curing" I call it "drugging". Not sure what it has to do with the topic here.

As for my problems with psychiatry as medical science, I have pointed that out already and will not repeat myself.
