You really ought to write out what this is all about, rather than simply declare a conclusion.

There was a polling place in the (mostly white, says the ACLU) part of Dodge City, KS. Now, Dodge City, KS, even the white portions, is not wealthy. Their cost of living in Dodge City is about 25% below the national average. Median home price there is about $100k to $110k. Average income is about $40k to $50k.

I guarantee this case will be dismissed. It's fucking horseshit. The State said they moved the polling site because there is a bunch of construction by the Civic Center, so they moved it to the Expo. It's 3.9 miles away. The article says it was moved to "an inaccessible site on the outskirst of town." That's rather an exaggeration, don't you think? Less than 4 miles?

So, the argument has to be that the Kansas officials are moving the voting site from the Civic Center to the Expo Center, less than 4 miles away, because of racial animus.

The City of Dodge City, moreover has offered free transportation to any person who wants it to take them to the polling place. Voters can call 620-371-3879 to make a ride reservation. So, that's for voting on November 6. The polls are open from 7am in the morning until 7am at night, and nobody in Dodge City has to travel more than about 5 miles to get to the polling place.

Moreover, what is not mentioned is the following:

on Oct. 4, the county clerk released information of having extended early voting hours in place.

Early voting began at the Ford County Government Center on Oct. 18 where voters can vote from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and will run until noon on Monday, Nov. 5.

Starting, Tuesday, Oct. 30, there will be extended early voting hours that will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

There will be extended early voting hours on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. as well.

On Saturday, Nov. 3, there will be early voting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The early voting will be held at the government center on the fourth floor in the Ford County Clerk’s Office.

The Ford Government Center is right in the center of town, 100 Gunsmoke St, which is right off of East Wyatt Earp Boulevard, which is right there about 1 mile from the Civic Center.

So, anyone in Dodge City can vote today from 9am to 7pm at the Ford Government Center. Anyone can vote tomorrow from 9am to 7pm. Thursday 9 am to 7pm and then again on Saturday November 3, from 10 am to 2pm. They can ALSO vote on November 6 from 7am to 7pm at the Expo Center.

Add to that, that under Kansas law ANY Kansas voter, whether absent from the state or not, can get an absentee ballot and mail it in.

Add to that, that in Kansas you can get an absentee ballot either on paper by requesting one at the election office, OR you can get one online. You can put your voter info in online, and print an absentee ballot and mail it in.

But, it's voter suppression to, on one of the above days, to move the polling place from the Dodge City Civic Center, due to problematic road construction in the vicinity, to the Dodge City Expo Center, 3.9 miles down the road.

If that's what you call voter suppression, the I rest my case.
