Nothing, they generally did go to the same public schools, here in the US. Surely, you see a difference between the activities in a restroom, and the activities in a school overall.

But, heck, maybe all you should have to do is identify as female to go into the girls' locker room to change for gym class. Headline in the school paper, "Football team identifies as female, demands to shower with the cheerleaders."

I wonder if you can spot the irony in your post. Liberals are ultimately highly ironic on this subject. "These people should stop fretting about small issues and worry about real problems" says exasperated liberal worrying about an issue that simply works for those involved. Why the fuck do you liberals get in such a fret about this stuff?? How is this policy hurting anyone? This is why I point out that conservatism actually underpins liberalism. You lot just can't handle change that doesn't gel with your world view.

I'm not in a fret about it. I read the article and posted on it. This is no different than any other issue here. All of us post on things that are of no particular import or importance to us, and on rather trivial matters.

However, when we are referring to school policies, the policies that occur in schools are important to many people, particularly those of us with kids. The article referred to a specific school system, but that school is not the only school that is creating policies like this. So, discussing the merits of these kinds of school policies is a worthwhile exercise, because similar things are becoming more common.

How is the policy hurting anyone? Well, as I mentioned, it's letting teenage boys into the girls bathrooms. It's requiring girls to do their business while boys may be walking in and out. Even if the teenage boy is in a dress, it can make teenage girls uncomfortable. The article says that anyone can use the female restrooms -- and no advance permission is needed.

I said, expressly, that I do not oppose the students being allowed to identify as anything they want. What I think happens with these kinds of policies, dealing with kids, is that it encourages undue focus on this stuff during academic time. I think the kids should focus on academics, because it's a school. The article suggests that the policy changes are intended to reduce the turmoil suffered by students who have these kinds of gender issues. But, it seems to me that such a large focus on gender issues in the school would create the very turmoil that the policies seek to prevent through an excessive focus on these issues.

When it comes to this "cultural marxism" stuff, you go all hyperbolic and ridiculous. I haven't gone hyperbolic or ridiculous. My post was a reasoned response to the OP. There is no fret or upset. The reality is that criticisms of radical feminism or cultural Marxism just sound hyperbolic or ridiculous to you, because you seem to have a special sensitivity relative to those topic.

I am a supporter of the freedom for people to identify as whatever they want to identify, and I made that quite clear. However, being a liberal doesn't mean that one favors cultural Marxism. It's the opposite, actually.
