There was a time in my life when the cap on a 1.75 l of booze only went one way, off. I learned me somethings since then.

He told me it was completely impossible to break an ordinary glass bottle, inside an ordinary empty plastic bag. I was so sure it could be done, I would have bet him anything, but he proved it was right.

Come clean everyone. What did you once believe was true, that you later found out was total crap.

I once believed the government recommendations that it was healthy to limit fat to 30% of total caloric intake.

Aside from that, the closets I can come up with are things that I once believed, but I'm now uncertain about.

When I was VERY little, my great aunt told me that if you put a tiny grain of salt on the tail of a pied wagtail, it would become completely tame, and would sit on your hand and let you stroke it.

I spent days after that stalking wagtails, but never got close enough.
It was only after I started throwing great handfuls of salt at them, that they had to stop me, and tell me that she was just kidding. They were running out of salt.
