I just can't let bald faced lying and misrepresentation go unchallenged. He's been doing this for years. And he never learns that he'll get called on it by me or Hermit (or others).

I never challenged CES on bald faced lying, because I think he actually persuades himself to believe his own misrepresentations. To me a bald lie is when you tell someone that something is true when you know that it is not.

Yeah, and when you catch someone in one of those, it's just hard to take that person seriously from then on.

If that is all that person ever does, yes, but I don't think any of us are exempt from deluding ourselves at least occasionally, so we ought not be so brutally unforgiving. CES argues well much of the time, even on issues where I disagree with him, (which is most of them,) and he is very good at researching the topics he posts about. Unfortunately, he lets his prejudices steamroll his ability to reason so often, I got sick of it, and bored. So I thought I take a break from it.

Look at the trend lines. Even the most recent Fox poll is showing a Trump slump. Also note, the larger the sample size, the larger Hillary's lead.
Trump's total inability to moderate his race baiting and "pivot" is killing him. Lately, he's looking more and more like a blustering con man running scared from his past scams. His core competency supposedly is business skills yet every day another story emerges about how he actually kind of sucks at running a successful long term business. The "art of the deal" business model turns out to be all about extracting cash from assets before they crash and burn. Trump University is just part of a long pattern...

NY Times just did a in-depth feature showing Trump's casinos, in addition to being long-term failures, were also among the least profitable in the industry even when he enjoyed a virtual monopoly on gambling outside of Nevada. Stories are piling up that he's a deadbeat, too. Supposedly, he's an ace manager and hires the best people; one casual glance at his campaign staff puts that theory to rest.

Real billionaires are laughing at his pretentious claims and openly wondering why a man of their status would need to hustle cheap steaks, a bogus vitamin network marketing pyramid and blatant scam like Trump U. Political pros are laughing at his inept attempts to run a campaign like it was another one of his turn and burn business deals. The business journal for the NY real estate market says it doesn't even consider him a significant player in the industry he claims to dominate. Trump is toast. Reality is catching up with him and, to win, he needs voters who live outside the conservatard reality bubble. He's got two options left. He can say increasingly outrageous things for the next five months or be buried by the steady avalanche of skeletons falling out of his closet; neither option takes him to the White House.

Just saw a tweet from him saying something like "thanks for the congrats about being right" regarding his stance on banning Muslims coming in to the US. What an utter fuckstain. He really is too immature to be anywhere near any level of power.
