Goals/Achievements You Still Look Forward To?

Post by cowiz » Wed May 25, 2011 7:03 pm

At your old age, do you still burn with ambition to achieve things as yet unfulfilled, or do you find yourself in a place where you are happy to be where you are and there is nothing more you feel you can achieve?

I was once a full blooded A-type over achiever, but now I just can't be arsed. I guess I took a lot of hits in this economy and picking yourself up and doing it all over again just seems to much effort for me. How about you?
It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.

I've done the career thing.

sorta planning new stuff , like political media stuff,

but you know what

I'd really like a nice loving relationship

and one that is stress free, don't want it to be any effort, just natural and loving

my marriage was bad bad bad

I am training to become an English teacher at long last, in September. I am very ambitious after being at home with little kids, but to be honest, am concerned that at 42, my energy levels don't match up to my ambition. I am having a crack at it this year, and if I don't cut the mustard, at least I will know I gave it my best try, as I apply for more sedate classroom assistant jobs again. Very much a case of the mind being willing, and the flesh being slightly weak.

I want to create a guppy farm and raise guppies.

I've never been ambitious in regard to jobs. I don't particularly like what I do... but I don't hate it either. It's just what I do.

I have loads of ambitions for myself personally - places I'd like to go, books to read, things to try that interest me... finding the time and money is the hardest at this point. I wish I'd done so much more back when I had less to tie me down.

My largest ambition is to get to retirement and make a major life change. I wish it could happen before, but that's not realistic.

I'm seeing parallels here to your quest for romance...

I'm still young enough that I think I can achieve most of my goals.
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

Get my Bachelors degree
Get my Masters degree
Establish a career I like
Travel overseas
Get married
Buy a house
Have kids

I've pretty much accomplished all the things I really wanted to accomplish. I've been having to come up with new things to achieve, such as publishing a novel. Otherwise, I guess it's just about continuing to raise my kids and watching them get on with their lives.
