What am I missing here?? Who's Lozz? Other than Lozzer I can't think who you'd mean and of course he wouldn't have been being beaten in an alley 20 years ago?
I was wondering that, but I was waiting for an edit of some sort ...
Me, too...
Feeble attempt at joke which does not seem to have worked. Also inappropriate for this thread. My bad.

Absolutely no worries there, Rum.

A guy came over to me one time with his hand over his face. He said, "I think I have a bloody nose." I pulled his hand away and saw he did, indeed, have a bloody nose. But the cause was that he'd taken a round through the transverse nasalis area, removing most of the nose. When I told him what had happened his rapped off a dozen or so rounds and then stuck the barrel of his Mattel gun to the wound, cauterizing it. He almost fainted from the pain, but about three minutes later he was back in his position, firing rather blindly because of the tears.

Jesus fuck!
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

Charlou - there was no chance of him living, none. It would be impossible to not want it over.
"Whatever it is, it spits and it goes 'WAAARGHHHHHHHH' - that's probably enough to suggest you shouldn't argue with it." Mousy.

He got an implant after the war, and I called him "Tycho". I don't think he had a clue what I meant by that.

He sent me a pix, 'round about '78, of him with a long screw through his nose. I used to think of him as "The Father of Punk".

This reminded me of a book, Gawdzilla.

I heard a legend that it was the first one that Hitler's goons ordered burned. All Quiet on the Western Front. I would recommend it to all, but I think you wouldn't get as much out of it as I did.

It was required reading in a class I took, a mixed undergrad/grad level class on WWI. I find "diaries" interesting, and "first person narratives" nearly as much.

Sorry, I was in agreement with you, and :( about both the extended suffering of the horse and that you were in such a helpless and hopeless situation.
