The human species really needs to pull its collective head out of its collective ass. We dig minerals and fossil fuels out of the earth, destroy and pollute every aspect of our environment for what? Silly shit that nobody in his right mind would ever consider to be a 'need'. Just one example from among countless:

Do we really need to make factories to make a machine that saves us the agony of wiggling our hand up and down for a couple of minutes a day?

If we don't change our attitudes, values and assumptions about what constitutes 'quality of life', we're fucked. [/rant]

Actually, I use an electric toothbrush because it actually cleans my teeth.
Now, floss is something I don't understand, and teeth whiteners, and listerine.
And sports cars. What's the use of going 0-100 in seven seconds if the speed limit in most areas is 60?

I've an electric toothbrush, too. Quite the modern man, I am.

It's the 500 different brands of shampoo that annoy me.

Floss is one of the best ways of keeping your teeth in good condition. It removes any particles of food from the nooks and crannies, preventing the carbohydrates turning to sugar in your mouth and feeding the bacteria that destroy tooth enamel.

Those tootbrushes are good for polishing gun barrels. Jeweler's rouge and a little patience and you've got a presentation arm in a few days.

Yes, BAA, sports cars and every kind of motorized racing sport are worse ideas than elecric toothbrushes. I saw electric nose-hair trimmers in the electronics dept. recently.

Our time-and-energy-saving gadgets are only making us lazier, dimmer and more helpless every day. I'd much rather use a little elbow-grease (no, :noteuphemism: for :airwank:) than spend money on another gadget. Fuck the corporate overlords and their mind-controlling marketing tactics! They can't have what's left of my mind! :lay:
