And they can trade with the third world, although, the rest of us will institute fair trade policies, which will probably mean the third-world won't trade with the conservatives and their exploitative practices.

In common parlance, it creates inefficiencies, raises prices, and the additional profits go to those you would expect to get them.

When I say "fair trade" I literally mean trade that is fair (or at the very least fairer than the current "free" trade regime), not the consumer organisation that goes under the identity of "FairTrade". Yeah, right. Human rights is such a conservative policy. The right for blacks to vote, the right for women to vote, the right for poor and disabled people to have dignity and a life, LGBTI rights, the right for the public to require polluting and exploitative corporations be responsible, the right to a healthy life, and most significant (a lack of which leads to all the former) a right to expect a democracy to be an actual democracy not a corporatocracy. I.e. a respect for the concepts of liberal (and social) democracy.
