Gone To Be A Soldier
Would you answer the call if it came in a envelope one day? Say a scenario developed where the West was really at war with some fearsome organised brutes like the Nazis? Would you go to be a soldier? or do a runner?

What will the world be like after its ruler is removed?

Mhhh. Too old to be a soldier. Too old to run. Bit of a conundrum, isn't it?Scumple wrote:Would you go to be a soldier? or do a runner?
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops. - Stephen J. Gould

They could still use you for something. Not everyone needs to be on the frontline. Someone needs to peel potatoes.Hermit wrote:Mhhh. Too old to be a soldier. Too old to run. Bit of a conundrum, isn't it?Scumple wrote:Would you go to be a soldier? or do a runner?

And my gin!
And my gin!
Re: Gone To Be A Soldier
I can get called for active duty till I turn 60. Probably they wouldn't put me scouting behind enemy lines anymore, even though that is what I originally was trained for.

Happy to serve in a light capacity at HQ, if that's far enough away from any action.
