You're not the only one. Heaps of people think that there is some sort of correlation between criminality and looks.

It's well known enough that it's even remarked on and used in cop series like criminal minds.
Now, I just wonder if it is that women have different ways to deal with their impulses, different desires that lead to their being less prone to becoming killers, or serials, or just are better at making sure they don't get caught.

I really think it's biological/hormonal/genetic/somethingish. The gender split is so profound that it's intensely interesting to criminologists, etc.

Of course. Some priests, teachers, gurus, uncles etc are well aware of that, and know how to exploit their ready-made position of trust. I was only commenting on the popular misconception that criminality is somehow related to a criminal's physical looks.

And yes, the difference in criminality between males and females is remarkable. I hesitate to speculate on the reasons why at this stage.

Wasn't calling you out on that, Ted Bundy was a good lookin' guy and quite the charmer. Henry Lee Lucas had to ambush his victims, he was butt ugly.

That's the thing, they don't go out of their way to be charming and disarm people they engage with, it's just that it can be anyone, you, me, your neighboor, you'll never know until one day YOU FIND OUT. They're normal looking as anyone can be.

That's the thing, they don't go out of their way to be charming and disarm people they engage with, it's just that it can be anyone, you, me, your neighboor, you'll never know until one day YOU FIND OUT. They're normal looking as anyone can be.

Well, there's a spectrum of styles out there. Bundy said he did focus on his victims and played them heavily. Others chose the first target-of-opportunity they could take.

here's a perfect example of how deceiving looks can be. Alcala was handsome, was even on the " Dating Game" once, got a job working for New York Times, yet all the while killing women all over the place.

Josef Fritzl. Even his best friend didn't suspect anything weird was going on in Fritzl's house. While he's not a serial killer, what he did was monstrous just as well.
