God of War = Devil May Cry rip-off.
Just stating an opinion.

GoW III looks amazing though, especially the battling on the Titan's body, but nothing I haven't seen before. Also, the graphics are equal to that of Devil May Cry 4.

Already? Firstly, they've released far more than 13 games... Secondly, the series has been going for 22 years! They could have made a hell of a lot more in that time.Valden wrote:They're up to 13 already?ScienceRob wrote:Final Fantasy 13 will be out on Tuesday. I have my pre-ordered copy up and ready to go.
And Devil May Cry is a rip off of Golden Axe and Alisa Dragoon with a penchant for bosses on par with Treasure games such as Gunstar Heroes. So what? Once a games company takes an idea and does something good with it it hardly matters.MattHunX wrote:God of War = Devil May Cry rip-off.

BTW: Hello! I forgot to greet you, you've responded to my Ireland topic back on the old RDF forum, helped me in my presentation. Thanks again!Animavore wrote:And Devil May Cry is a rip off of Golden Axe and Alisa Dragoon with a penchant for bosses on par with Treasure games such as Gunstar Heroes. So what? I've checked the wiki on Golden Axe and Alisa Dragoon, but I hardly see how DMC can be a rip-off of them.![]()
The only thing they have in common is that they're hack-and-slash, and that's only Golden Axe. Golden Axe is just a side-scrolling game. And the only similarities with Alisa Dragoon is the hidden power-ups and maybe the scoring system at the end of the game (and not even after each stage).
And besides that, there is also two decades between them and DMC. Worlds apart.
But, as I said GoW III looks awesome and maybe I'll try it. If nothing else than for the story, but then I would also have to play the previous titles and I don't want that.
Yeah, of course. Every game borrows from another. It's just that GoW borrows heavily from DMC, from what I've seen from it. Damn! Another good title is BAYONETTA, but it's only for the console, those bastards! Heavenly Sword looked like, and probably was/is a kick-ass game, and it's PS3 exclusive. Bastards! :pissed:Animavore wrote:Yeah I remember. Glad to be of help.MattHunX wrote:BTW: Hello! I'm sure the other games would've been in 3-D had they had the means to do it. Anyway I was just trying to illustrate that DMC does not exist in a bubble separate from everything else.
Well, they're totally different systems, so I'd be very surprised if the graphics were the same unless the game features very low quality graphics. But the PS3 can be pushed further if the developers want to. As for FF13, bear in mind that there's essentially no difference during normal gameplay, but the FMVs are considerably better on the PS3. This is because the PS3 version has higher resolution.Animavore wrote:I only got my PS3 last October so I haven't played Heavenly Sword I might rent it.
Bayonetta has better and smoother graphics on the XBOX than the PS3 but another recent one Darksiders and FF13 have better graphics on the PS3.
I have absolutely no idea why that should be. They should surely all be the same on both?
Bayonetta's graphics are still cleaner on PS3, they just did a terrible job of managing lag and loading times on the PS3 version. Still have no idea why the hell they'd put more effort into streamlining the 360 version, but for whatever reason they did and thus Microsoft continues to pull away from Sony in the gaming industry. That is, until Move comes out.Animavore wrote:I only got my PS3 last October so I haven't played Heavenly Sword I might rent it.

And in recent news, Valve are bringing Steam to the Mac and all their games with it, including Portal 2 when it comes out. Can't wait.
The reason PS3 has performance issues is that porting games to it is shit. PS3 format is all wonky.Mephistopheles wrote:Bayonetta's graphics are still cleaner on PS3, they just did a terrible job of managing lag and loading times on the PS3 version. God of War III has upped the bar in terms of gameplay and art direction, but damn the story development sucked this time around. And waaaaaaaaay too much focus on fighting big-ass titans with QTEs than, you know, actually challenging/interesting boss battles. *sigh*
