Now that I have a PS3 again, I started Bioshock back up. It's a very cool game, and visually stunning (although the earlier levels seem to be more impressive than the later ones). Some questions for others who have played the game:

What's the best way to kill a Big Daddy? I know you're supposed to use armor piercing bullets, and I do, but I get murderized anyway. He seems to just shrug them off. Am I doing something wrong? I even stun him first with my electro-shock :dono:

Do you save the Little Sisters or not? I do, cuz I'm soft-hearted. But as far as what is gained, what is the difference? Which yields the greater reward?

I just went through this frozen area in which I had to give up my weapons before entering. Wow, that was a fucking bitch. I saved my game right before I went in, so when I died I could just reload. And I died a lot :( What was I meant to do here? What should I have done?

I'm in this garden-like area now. It's difficult to find my way around here. Um...I guess I don't have a question. It's just the first area where 'm really very reliant on the map. I'm completely disoriented.

So how many levels are there in this game? I'm just wondering how far along I am.

Oh. Toward the beginning of the game, I was exploring and found a hole in a bathroom wall. I went through it and the motherfucker sealed up behind me. It enters into the area in which we first encounter a Big Daddy and Little Sister. Anyway, I was really pissed off because there were large areas I still hadn't explored, and who the hell knows what valuable stuff I might have missed. Is there any way to go back at any point, or am I fucked?

Pedro is Peter Harrison, I'm just PacoRUK on the PSN. What's your gamertag Tattuchu? Is it the same as your username here?

Not played bioshock so can't help there, sorry.

I've started Fallout 3, it took a few hours for me to get into it but i'm liking it now.

Yeah, Pavo, when I set up my PS3 I just used tattuchu. But I didn't set up internet access or anything cuz I don't like playing multi-player games. I prefer to do my own thing at my own pace. What can I say? I like to play with myself :dono:
Although I suppose I'll need to set up internet access in order to get those extraordinarily annoying and time consuming updates :?

I've completed the storyline mission of the Saboteur, and I am now finishing the freeplay targets. The game has some strange glitches and a few buggy sections, but all in all I enjoyed the game play. I doubt that I will play the storyline mission a second time though.

It might be a while yet before I buy a new game, I'll wait and see what games are coming out in the future.

Just started Medieval II total War . Amazon posted 'Mount and Blade' to me today and StarShatter has been discontinued (found out after I ordered it) so I still have nothing to fly :pissed:

I just lost about three hours worth of progress in Bioshock when the game froze up on me

That sucks. :pissed:

Now that I've got Mass Effect 2 out of the way, I'm back to MW2 as usual until Heavy Rain is released. Can't wait, because MW2 gets boring if you play it too often.

I used to play on Gamebattles.com, but it pisses me off that US players can play to win cash in tournaments, while UK players don't get any cash. :lay: :nono:

I need a new game. Might rent out one later. MW2 is boring when you play all the time, I've no interest with moving up the ranks really. One of the things with getting older, you just don't put the effort in any more and as I've bee playing first person shooters for the past nearly 20 years its nothing new to me.
I'm thinking AC2 or Unchartered 2 for later.

From those two, I'd recommend buying Uncharted 2 and maybe renting Assassins Creed 2.

I'm quite competitive, so I enjoy climbing the ranks. I'm always trying to get my kill/death ratio and accuracy as high as possible. The ratio is at 1.25 at the moment, and accuracy at 26.08%. Don't get my started on the fucking accuracy though, as it's impossible to tell how well you're doing. I'm ranked about 100,000th best accuracy worldwide... but if you jump to the very top of the worldwide leaderboard, thousands of the players with better accuracy are ones who've shot about 3 times, hit 3 times, and then never played again! :pissed: :pissed: :pissed:

True. Next they need to take the number of shots fired into account when ranking accuracy. Otherwise the leader-board is pointless.

I don't have much trouble beating Big Daddys now. Only I kinda cheat. See, I used to burn through a bunch of health fighting them. Now I don't bother. If I get killed, I just re-spawn at the nearest vita-chamber. Then I find him and attack him again, and I repeat until the job is done. I was surprised to find that, once attacked, his health doesn't replenish even though I've died and come back. So I use that to my advantage. In fact, I'm doing this quite a lot now with the other enemies as well. If I'm searching for something, for instance, I just ignore the enemies. I don't bother burning up all my health and eve and ammo like I used to. If they kill me, I don't care. I just re-spawn.

I bought Bioshock 2 a few days ago (for PC), having played and completed the first one when it came out.

The second one is, if anything, better, though because you know the setup the novelty isn't as strong a factor. The 'atmosphere' is superb and the relationship with the other in game characters is done better too. I played it last night for two hours and thought about 45 mins had passed! Always a sign of a good game!

I hope Bioshock 2 (PS3) isn't as glitchy as the first one. The other thing that annoyed me is I'd crouch all the time when I didn't want to, since the left stick controlled walking and (if pressed) crouching. This is, when I get attacked, I try to move quickly and always press the stick by mistake. So I'm always down on the floor crouching, and I end up yelling at the TV, "Get up! Get up you stupid fuck!"
At least I know what I'm doing now on my second play-through. I know where to search for goodies, and I know how to use my weapons properly, so I very rarely run low on health and eve and ammo. I can even kill Mr Bubbles without too much trouble. My problem before was that I panicked and pressed the wrong buttons. It was part nerves, and part unfamiliarity. And I'm using things I never used before, too, trying to play smarter. I never used Enrage in my first go-round, for instance, but am finding it useful this time around. I still won't use the freeze plasmid, though. I don't like it because, once killed, the enemies don't leave any loot behind.
Oh, I was going to just harvest the Little Sisters this time instead of saving them. I was curious to see what difference it would make in the game. But I didn't have the heart to do it :(
