New video game has Welsh protagonist...

"We're staying true to the Japanese version, even with regional accents," explains the studio's president, Akihiro Hino. "In the original, Drippy has a heavy Osaka accent, but in the international version it's Welsh. We have a localisation director who is very particular with all the minor details."

In Japan, the Osaka accent has the same, often comedic, yokel connotations as a southern American drawl. We're not sure what Welsh players are going to make of Drippy, then, but it's certainly amusing to hear him exclaim "Ruddy Nora!" when he and Oliver are in danger.

I guess they chose the Welsh accent because it sounded most 'yokel'

By the way I named my third Familiar (Pokemon style battle monster), a little fairy with a green smurf-like hat, "Pappa". I expect I'll be naming more after Ratz if I find them apt.

This game just has the most in-depth and best in-game journal I've ever seen. I mean.. most of these RPGs do but Ni No's is a thing of beauty. I usually don't bother reading these things but Ni No's has such wonderful presentation and illustration I can't help but read it. It makes me wish I forked out for the Wizard's Edition and had a hard copy of it.

There is so much depth and so much to love in this game if you have a PS3 I urge you to get it. If you don't - fucking rip it and get a PS3 emulator or something.

No the game case is still in the plastic wrap and so I haven't even put the disc in the console yet, but already I hate it
