I read the first few chapters of Cancer Ward a couple of years ago, but didn't finish it. Mobile phones have destroyed my attention span, but I should finish it. It seemed like an excellent novel.

Anyone ever read The Bickford Fuse, by Andrei Kurkov? It's tough going at times, and weird, but good. I think.

My favourite Kurkov book is probably Death and The Penguin, or maybe The Case of the General's Thumb.
