Ironic that most motherboards here complaining about slavery have more than likely been built via slavery in the far east? :coffee:
What will the world be like after its ruler is removed?

Just about every society is guilty of committing it at some point in their history.
Slavery is still alive and well, mostly taking the form of debt bondage (40 million people in India alone).

Perhaps so. The OP still stands and the book has huge merit. Tyrannical is an apologist for slavery and that is simply not defensible as far as I am concerned.

Read the book in my Antebellum English course. Good read. It's like the Anne Frank diary or Night by Elie Wiesel. A real first-hand perspective of the true injustices and cruelties in the world.

Well, sometimes the toilet plugs up and there's still quite a line, so the plumber doesn't get an early shot, and viola, a racist comes crawling out.

You end up like me through rationalism and logic.
Do you have evidence or at least a theory to prove me wrong? Of course not, moral outrage trumps everything.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

There's no reasoning with a bigot like you. 9mm solution is suggested.

I doubt you know the meaning of reason, at least in a rational way.

Yep, I'm the one with irrational fears of melatonin. Does it haunt your nightmares? You do have nightmares I hope. Maddening ones.

Not only is he a gun grabber capitulator, his favorite resort is to suggest an ideological opponent be murdered by firearm.

The treatment slaves received, as I read on, was not only cruel and barbaric, but it was arbitrary, often random and deliberately so in order to keep a whole race of people intimidated and cowed. One knows intellectually of these things, but reading a first hand account makes it all the more shocking.

The songs, we think of with some affection, which were the root of gospel and the blues, which many whites thought of as the expression of happiness, were according to Douglass, the deepest, loneliest desperate expression of all hope lost. Dreadful.

Slavery is by definition involuntary.
