I'm currently demolishing this

Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

I'm sure his school days were the best of his life. Great author though. Dark and warped

The His Dark materials books are great too. One of the greatest, saddest and darkest endings I have ever read in any book, let alone a (supposed) children's book. I think the only other ending that made me cry quite that much was The Grapes of Wrath.

The first two movie my Dad rented when we got our VCR back in the 80's was 'Witness' (you know, with Harrison Ford and the Amish people), and 'Debbie Does Dallas'

I was in middle school at the time, so I didn't stick around for the second show in that weird-ass double feature. That being the case, I'm not sure I can second your recommendation.
A friend of mine spent $2500 on a VHS/TV combo when they first came out. DDD (You have love the Triple D connotations of that, btw) was one of his prize collection. $79.95 for that thing. :pawiz:
I never put together the DDD, as in her cups overfloweth.
$79.95-- now that's some real devotion to filth.

You should watch it with two dozen drunken sailors (and twice that many hookers.)
