About the book:

When a tsunami hit a Spanish treasure galleon, all trace of a golden hoard greater than that of any pharaohs vanished into history, Unit NUMA agent Dirk Pitt dives into an ancient sacrificial pool far into the Andien jungle in order to rescue two archaeologists, and plunges into a vortex of corruption, betrayal and death. A sinister crime syndicate has traced the long-lost treasure--worth almost a billion dollars--from the Andes to the banks of a hidden underground river flowing beneath a Mexican desert. Nothing will stop their ruthless and murderous drive to recover the gold. Nothing, that is, until Pitt and his team place themselves square in the path of danger.....

Dirk’s girlfriend Pearl Scrotum laughed gently as dirk raised himself onto his elbow. The bedclothes were as dishevelled as her glowing auburn hair. Darling she murmured ‘with my panties tied round your neck like that, you look like one of the Burghers of Calais’. Luckily she was a big girl. ‘Fuck’ he shouted ‘Calias’ If I don’t get to the ferry terminal quickly I’ll miss the next ferry.

He needed to get to Ostende, his next contact in the chain, Gouda Van Rental, would only wait so long… Van Rental was a prickly bastard at the best of times....

My favourite crime writers at the moment are Michael Connelly (LA noirish) & Ian Rankin (Scottish miserable cuntish) great stuff.
At least I'm housebroken.

I don't like to read too much about a book.. Clive Cussler has been recommended to me before though.. thanks
I really enjoy Clive Cussler's books. But, to be honest, they are the male equivalent of a romance novel. They are very formulaic, but the formula is well chosen and well done.
