Definitely one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time.

Definitely better then most stoner comedies: Fear and Loathing [...] actually has a plot. Still, the self-absorbed nature of these druggy types (not just in films, in real life too) doesn't really appeal to me. I'm fine with using recreational drugs, but why do people have to make such a big thing out of it?

I prefer a more serious take on the whole drug thing. Like The panic in needle park.
