Sex Toy Adverts on TV

Post by NineBerry » Sat Jan 14, 2017 6:58 pm

So, I was very surprised to see that there are nowadays adverts for Sex Toys on German television! And not only during the night, but in broad daylight. Just now I saw one Saturday evening in the context of a saturday evening family show!

Is this a German phenomenon only, or do you also have that recently?

I wouldn't know, I don't have a telly, but I suspect that our censorship is not ready to let that kind of thing slip

I was watching Family Guy round at my daughters when one of these adverts came one. It made her laugh out loud and sparked an interesting discussion about the promotion of unrealistic expectations about sex and the prevalence of porn viewing among teenagers, particularly among boys. In the end my daughter pointed out that the adverts were harmless because everyone was doing that flavoured lube and battery-operated stuff already. Quite an eye-opener.

Personally, I find the prevalence of gambling ads and apps far more troubling and problematic.

Never in the Puritanical U.S., you can be sure of that.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

I couldn't agree more about those fucking gambling ads. Aussies are sports mad, and every televised sports program is absolutely crammed with advertising for on-line gambling of one sort or another. We already have a problem with poker machines, now the ubiquity of smart phones, and the ease of use of gambling aps is creating another trap for people.

Advertising should only be allowed for Progressive things. So, there should definitely be ads for double headed dildos with ass tickers and nipple clamps, but gambling apps and beer are right out. The former are empowering to women, while the latter encourage toxic masculinity.

Really? You were surprised?

I'd be surprised on Irish TV, but not German.

German TV shows gangbang bukkake and sheite films on Saturday mornings instead of kids' cartoons.

Well gambling as in Britain is not allowed here. We dont have bookies. You can bet on the course but not off it and definitely not on tv. Irish tv was full of betting ads.
On the commercial channels sex ads do appear not on PBS. Even whore houses advertise, well it is a legal business.

So, I was shopping at the local Aldi on Friday evening and there was a family with two young children (maybe ages between 5 and 8) and the two children (both girls) were singing the song from one of the sex toy adverts (see below). The parents didn't seem happy
