I saw gods of Egypt

a few passages where I wanted to slap the scriptwriter with a dead fish, but the visuals were most impressive.

More than 30 years after it was released, I'm finally getting around to watching Ran by Akira Kurosawa. Well, I'm recording it on BBC4, for watching at some later point.

As it's partly an adaptation of King Lear, almost everyone will come to a sticky end.

Speaking of Japanese films, I grabbed Harakiri (1962) not long ago. Really solid flick. Very Tennessee Williams, if you can believe that for a bushido story set in 17th century feudal Japan...

Just saw Sicario. It was so try-hard it was almost embarrassing. And I'll probably get called a cuck or a mangina for saying this, but I found Emily Blunt's character and her treatment to be pretty disturbing. I don't see why a sole woman was cast in the movie. Seems like it was a dude bros wet dream of a movie.

I wanted to like that one so much. Sadly, I did not :(
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Like so many movies today. Vastly improved lighting/special effects wasted on mediocre story telling and character development.
