Yeah, same with about a dozen forums I'm on. Plus the fact that the kid is now the world record holder for survival as sea, and him just a teen with no skills.Clinton Huxley wrote:If you read Jerry Coyne, you'll have seen the basic premise of this film refuted umpty-billion times.Gawdzilla Sama wrote:I am still getting emails telling me to see this as it will finally prove God.

To me the second story was more interesting, even if it didn't have Tallulah Bankhead.

Took my dear old mum to see Les Miserables this afternoon. The first time she has been to the cinema in over 12 years!
Wonderful film. The audience applauded at the end (that's saying something for us emotionally retarded Brits!).

Well, they could've used the word "nigger" more often, but aside from that, it was OK. Only OK.Animavore wrote:
Y'know I usually like films like this. Films like this were white-folk get their just commupence from oppressed black-folk. It reminds me of films like Michael Collins were the Brits get their just commupence from oppressed Irish bastards. I get a grim satisfaction out of it. Despite, yeah I know, that shit's all behind us and we're friends now. I'm not sure if you white-folk can get under the skin of such films, being on the recieving end usually with the white shame and all that. I guess maybe if you've been bullied you would probably have a special empathy.
I digress....
I usually like films like this but I couldn't help feeling while watching this one that it's out far too late. That Blazing Saddles already did this and did it better. That white shame may even be a bit passé now. It wasn't a bad film by any means, just, untimely.

Django was definitely was one of my faves this year. That and Avengers are the only two movies I can say I really enjoyed watching.

Tarantino does my fucking head in. He clearly knows how to direct, I wish he'd just stop fucking writing.

They changed Google images..now you get like a preview of the image in this black background thing. Suppose that's why it didn't work.
Hope it works this time..doesn't matter either way tho.
