Guardians of the Galaxy. Star Wars with better jokes and none of the psuedo-religious bollocks!

Lucy. A total acid-trip of a film. The science is complete and utter bollocks - you can visualise Neil DGT facepalming every time Morgan Freeman opens his mouth! But it is visually stunning, full of Luc Besson style, and Scarlett is... well, just fucking Scarlett!11!

Going to watch Paddington tomorrow. He's like Chewbacca after finishing school.

And so they ended the movie with Peter being mad and and doing the straitjacket dance...like you do after being tortured and brainwashed...maybe not, but in the movies it is the norm to stereotype.

I think the problem with your review is that it doesn't end. That's rather the point.
Trigger Warning!!!1! :
I agree that the final shot was sub-par for any number of reasons beyond cliche, such as, by way of example, why would the rebels straitjacket Peta (not Peter) to a bed in an agonizingly bright completely sterile room that looks more like a psychological torture room than a hospital room for a psych patient. And haven't the rebels heard of Thorazine?

As for arrows, one might take note of the substantial basis for this shot (pun intended) expounded upon earlier in the movie. It is perfectly plausible for an explosive-tipped arrow entering the air intake of a turbine engine to do exactly as depicted.

On the other hand the major goof of the entire plot (unless they just didn't get there yet) is why they let the hostages go to begin with. Yes, I know, Peta was supposed to kill Katniss, but were I the arch-villain I'd have simply infected the hostages with a fatal communicable disease and let them spread it among the rebels, or at least given Peta a hollow tooth a la Duke Leto.

Even if the bioweapon was not to be used, the fact that the rebels didn't even think to quarantine the hostages really jarred me out of my willing suspension of disbelief.

Is there any reason to watch Mockingjay besides Jennifer Lawrence's pretty face? Because I saw the last one based on my nephew's promise that it was actually kinda good (he lied), but I really have no desire to suffer through another of these shite movies based on shite books :?

I read about half of the first Hunger Games book. Obv, I'm not the target audience. But it was rubbish.

p.s. Peeta? Katniss? Jesus H Christ. Why is it that our gun-toting friends (Seth?!) never shoot the right people?! Please, for the love of God, somebody please rid society of this shite author Stephenie Meyer

edit: Suzanne Collins. Same fucking difference.

Just watched Guardians of the Galaxy. Like a really bad episode of Dr. Who with a £100 million budget. Was either that or Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. Think I made the wrong choice.

Watched the director's cut of Alien last night.

It seems Sigourney Weaver's part was originally supposed to go Veronica Cartwright, who didn't realise she'd been downgraded to one of the supporting cast until she arrived on the set. The whole Alien franchise could have been very, very, different.

Under the Skin. Gorgeous film. It's got Scarlett Johansson nude! It's got Scotland! What more could you possibly want :dunno:

The Guard, with Brendan Gleesan and Don Cheadle. Really liked this one a lot.
