I watched this last night and, while it had many good points, I found the acting stilted and unbelievable. Every character seemed to be waiting their turn to speak their lines - it was like going to see the opening night of a play where the actors still had to think about what they were going to say next instead of letting the narrative flow naturally. For me, this ruined what could have been a really great little film.

There was something else that annoyed me too - spoilered for those that haven't seen it - cos it gives away a large chunk of the ending.
Trigger Warning!!!1! :
There is a lot made about how come he has no evidence of his great age. No mementoes. No information that he could give that wasn't in the public domain. My immediate thought was that he would only need to reveal a few of the identities that he had used recently (remember, he moves on every 10 years or so) and let the others look them up in public records or on the internet. But no-one thought of that until he just happened to blab about a previous life in front of the guy that turned out to be his son.
I'm sorry. It just didn't work for me on a lot of levels. It would make a decent play but the cast would need to be far better rehearsed than the one in the film.

I was of the impression that it was originally a play.
I came here to sneer at the Cats and JimC. Stayed to see what was going on. Oh, yeah, blasphemy is a victimless crime.
