Episode 2 was much better than the first.

Re: Game of Thrones
Episode 2 was so booooring.
Just a bunch of mindless chatter. The description on my TV said: "Sansa says too much" as the highlight of the show. Wow, that is interesting.

That song on the credits... why?

That's what I thought too - odd choice.

Re: Game of Thrones
Didn't much like this episode and the song at the end was off putting to the say the least.
Re: Game of Thrones
I missed episode 2 so I was wondering a bit at how these people came to be in the situations they're in.. but pretty slow. I'm wondering what the queen of dragons is up to - perfidy I bet.

Re: Game of Thrones
So many useless scenes like shooting the arrows at the boat for a minute. This was supposed to be the best season of the best book.
Re: Game of Thrones
The arrow scene was in the book. In fact it's a good thing the whole Catherine at her dying father's bedside plotline was taken out or we'd be in for more boredom. The ripped the guts out of her whole story. And a good thing too. She really is the worst character on the show.

Re: Game of Thrones
If anything it was the whole Podrick brothel scene which had my face nestled into my palm.

Re: Game of Thrones
I haven't read the books, so I suspect in episodes like this I enjoy the show more than people who have. What's Podrick up to? Did the brothel guy bring him in on a plot against the dwarf? What's mother of dragons up to? Will she take the slave army and have her dragons raze the city to the ground?
Some suspense.. also the kingslayer saving knight-girl from being raped only to be maimed was an interesting twist.

Re: Game of Thrones
I don't think Podrick's up to anything. I think it was just thrown in for the laugh.
I liked the table scene with Tyrion and the Small Council.

Made it 39 minutes into the first episode. I didn't care who won the throne.

Re: Game of Thrones
I've read all the books and while I enjoyed them. I personally think the T.V. show is in many ways a less bloated and indulgent adaptation. The way they have went from an episodic format to speedy vignettes over the last two weeks will totally bewilder casual viewers, but by fuck are they moving it on quickly. There has been some interesting tweaks to the plotline which I've heard people complain about (Margary Tyrell being so conniving from the word go, for example) which isn't in the books, but the producers are working with perfect hindsight and thus can install motivations and actions from the later novels and make them explicit early on.
I cannot wait for episode nine. Those who got pissed at Ned Stark's fate in season one might need trauma counsellors, if all goes according to plan.
