Blackhawk, yes. Three Kings, no, but it's on my list now.

Edit: Dead Presidents is here. Will be back with a report shortly.

+1

How about 84 Charlie MoPic? I saw it years ago and liked it (it may be shite though).

1/2 an hour into Dead Presidents and all I can say is something needs to happen real soon. Enough back story already!! :lay:

Somebody help me out here. Did the USMC issue 12 ga pumps during the VN War? :?

If you want weird, try "Jacob's Ladder". (I knew fifteen minutes in what happened.)

Seen it several times. Love it. What about about 12 ga pumps in the USMC in VN? Seems pretty unlikely to me. Very good up-close, but range, cycling rate and magazine capacity don't make it an ideal combat weapon. The lead in Dead Presidents allegedly used one as a recon unit. :dono:

Remingtons were highly prized in the boonies. They were sent over frequently by family members on request. The post offices winked at shipments of double-0 shells in the mail.

Fair enough. If I'd been there, I'd have wanted a 12 ga, too, but I'm from Mississippi. I grew up hunting with them. This story is about an inner-city NY kid. Just seems dubious to me. Whatever. It's turning into a reasonably watchable flick.

Skeet shooters are all over the place, even NYC. And the shotguns put out a round that covered a larger area than the .223s.

The guys in this movie weren't of the skeet-shooting crowd, but I agree with the 12 ga-to-.223 comparison. I wasn't in VN during the war, but from the combat footage I've seen, I'd have felt more confident with a 12 ga semi-auto than an M-16. But what do I know?

Oh, and the movie turned into a flop for different reasons, so don't go out of your way to watch it. ;)

Just sayin' the shotgun gets around. Being able to spray an area was always a nice option.

That "Dead Presidents"?? Try "Gloria." Say hi to the spook for me.

"Gloria" sounds familiar. I think I might've seen it already. (You're using an iffy word again. 'spook' has connotations where I come from... :shifty: )

You'll have to watch the movie. No spoilers from me.
